Dr. Nikunj Makwana is a Medical Doctor and Public Health Professional holding a PhD in Public Health from JNU. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the Special Centre for Disaster Research, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. His extensive background includes serving as a Medical Officer for the Government of Gujarat and as a Consultant for the National Health Systems Resource Centre. He has also coordinated the Health Services of JNU. Dr. Nikunj has contributed as a member of the UGC Expert Committee for framing the syllabus of the subject 'Disaster Management' for the UGC-NET examination. He continues to serve as a subject matter expert in Disaster Management for various national-level agencies and organizations. His academic interests span public health, disaster management, and social sciences. Notably, he was part of the Indian Youth Delegation, sent by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, to Russia for the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students.
